Invoice Email with credit card button

So...you have one of our credit card processors set up and you'd now like to know how to include a button in the body of an email so that customers can make payment? No problem! Here's how to do it...

First, please visit the email center where you can create an invoice email template. So you can visit this link or you can hover over the "My Account" tab, click "Email Options", click "Create/Edit Emails", and choose the "Invoices" choice at the top of the screen.

You can either edit the current template (if you have one created already) or simply click on the "create new email template" link to create a new one. If you are creating a new email we have a sample email you can use. Just click on the "Include Credit Card Button:

One recommendation is to select "Don't send as attachment" and not send the invoice pdf as an attachment. In the sample email that populates in the message area is an actual button that the customer can click on to view the invoice.

Also in the email will be a %creditcardpaymentlink% token which will display as a blue button that says "Click here to Pay with Credit Card" which your customers can click on to easily make payment.

They will get sent to a secure payment page when clicking the credit card button. Our suggestion is to add yourself to your account as a customer and schedule a job for you for like $1.00. Create an invoice and send it to yourself and actually make payment. You'll see the process your customer will go through so if they have any questions you'll be able to answer them. And by testing it yourself you’ll also be able to confirm that everything works as it should. For example, sometimes a user will forget to authorize with Square so therefore the "%creditcardpaymentlink% doesn't work because the user didn't authorize The Customer Factor to communicate with Square.

If you have any questions on the above, please let us know. Take care and have a great day.

Best,
