Adding A Prospect

For those unfamiliar, a "Prospect" refers to someone who has not yet become a customer. A prospect expresses interest in your service, possibly seeking an estimate, but has not committed to an actual job. Adding them in The Customer Factor is an easy process and you can do it by following these steps:

Adding New Prospect:

  • Hover over the "Prospects" tab on the left navigation bar.
  • Click on "Add" from the dropdown menu.
  • Select either "Residential or Commercial" based on the prospect type.

Note: Residential is the default choice, but you can change this preference by going to the General Setup screen (Miscellaneous section).

Fill in Prospect Information:

  • Scroll down the screen and fill in the prospect information.
  • Provide details such as name, address, phone numbers, notes, etc.

Save or Create Estimate Options: At the bottom of the screen, you have the option to:

  • Save: If you only want to add the prospect without creating an estimate, click the "Save" button.
  • Save & Create Estimate: If you want to create an estimate after adding the prospects details, click the "Save & Create Estimate" button.

Quick Add Window (Optional):

  • Alternatively, you can use the "Quick Add" window located at the upper right of the page.
  • Open the "Quick Add" window and ensure that the "Create Estimate" option on the left is selected.
  • Continue by entering the prospect's information.
  • If you want to add a prospect quickly without estimate information, click "Save and Finish".

And that's all there is to adding a prospect! This enables you to manage potential customers and their information, whether you want to create estimates or simply save their details for future reference.
