Merging Customers

Duplicate customers got you down? No worries! This article shows you how to easily merge them and keep your data squeaky clean.


Visit Customer Profiles:

  • Go to each customer's profile screen whom you want to merge.
  • Locate the ID number to the right of each customer's name, next to the bell icon.
  • Take note of the ID numbers for both customers you intend to merge.

Access Profile Merging URL:

  • Visit the profile merging URL: Merge Customers.
  • Alternatively, bookmark the link for future use.

Initiate the Merge Process:

  • On the merging screen, enter the respective customer ID numbers in the "From Customer ID" and "To Customer ID" fields.
  • Example: If merging customer ID# 11 into customer ID# 12, enter "11" in the "From Customer ID" field and "12" in the "To Customer ID" field.
  • While "Create Location" and "Make Bill To" are usually left unchecked, imagine customer ID#11 at 6649 N Blue Gum St (different from ID#12). If you want this address to become the job location after merging with ID#12, check "Create Location".
  • Verify the "Make Bill To" option remains unchecked unless needed.

Remember:

  • Once a merge is performed, it cannot be undone. So please make sure to double-check all details before confirming the merge.

Proceed with the Merge:

  • When ready to merge, click the "Update" button.
